Considered as one of the most popular games in the world with more than 250 million people playing it regularly, the game is an obsession for many and is a universal language that brakes all barriers and connects people from around the globe.
The origin of the game dates back thousands of years since humanity has been kicking spherical objects and are about 4000 years old, the age of the oldest ball discovered. Of course, it has evolved throughout history until it reached its modern form which we watch now.
It was in Mesoamerica where the first rubber ball was made in 1500 BC and the game witnessed a huge success which became a ritual. Ball courts found in Arizona, USA, boosted its widespread and made it an essential part of society.
The HARPASTUM was a form of ball game played in Roman Empire in 350 BC and was copied from the Greek version of a game called PHAININDA.
CUJU from China, was the closest to modern football where the game was formalized by the HAN dynasty in 200 BC.
In Kyoto, Japan, the first evidence of ball game was discovered and showed that KEMARI was enormously popular which was played in the imperial court.
